SAFETY INDUCTIONS
Broadview Safety Pty Ltd have been delivering General Safety Induction Training in Queensland since 1996 and in that time we have seen two major changes with the introduction of the 'Blue Card' (QLD based) followed more recently by the introduction of a 'White Card' (Nationally recognised).
- The Blue Card was introduced in January 2003 and became compulsory in 2006.
- The White Card was introduced in July 2009 (not yet compulsory if you still hold a Blue Card, although everyone should be looking to update sooner rather than later).
If you know someone new to the Industry who needs to complete a General Safety Induction course, the White Card is what they will be issued with.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
If you still have a Blue Card, it is currently still being accepted but you should be aware that the White Card is beginning to be recognised as the superior card with the added benefit of being recognised Nationally.
If you lose your Blue Card, it cannot be replaced in its current form as these cards are no longer being made.
It is up to the discretion of each Registered Training Organisation as to whether they are prepared to offer you a 'new for old' replacement card, for a small fee.
Broadview Safety have made a conscious decision NOT to automatically replace Blue Cards with a White Card. There is a risk involved with 'automatically' updating something if there has been no verification of a person's competency. If we haven't checked that you have retained previous information AND you haven't been trained in the differences between an old and new course, there is a danger of misleading the people who have the responsibility of accepting the certification.
Broadview Safety Pty Ltd would require you to complete the full White Card course to receive a White Card!
